hYn has never been a foreigner to music. He started playing the drums from an early age and frequently touched the keys from his mother's grand piano. Since the first Dutch Covid lockdown he’s thrown himself full force into making electronic music, especially Drum & Bass, from soft and melodic to deep, dark and chaotic. ‘Orb’ was his first ever release, which went live in February 2022. A calm, melancholic tune. This was followed by his debut EP ‘At Home’, consisting of three tracks, which together create one story. A collaboration with the likes of Gladde Paling was something no one had expected, but resulted in ‘Broccoli Beat’ and festival banger ‘Ochtendbloem’. Additionally, in the summer of 2023, he had a release of two tracks on LUX music called 'Bunnikwater'. November 2022 however, has been an opening not just for himself, but for the D&B and hiphop scene as a whole. In collaboration with CussingTie, the ‘Sleutelbos’ single, a unique combination of D&B, rap and thriller elements, is something no one has ever heard before. The months following this release will mainly revolve around expanding this single into an immersive, spine-chilling story, the Sleutelbos EP. In addition to his rapidly developing discography, the stages have gotten bigger too. In less than a year he’s gone from playing at smaller venues like ACU in Utrecht to Poppodium 013 in Tilburg, where he and CussingTie had their first ever ‘Sleutelbos’ live performance.
