Haysen Cheng is a rapper, singer and songwriter from Hong Kong who began releasing songs independently in 2019 and gained regional buzz after multiple music videos from his first projects “Durags & Chopsticks” and “North Point Demos, Vol. 1” were building up traction, which led to increasing interest from major labels. In 2021, Haysen Cheng moved to Mainland China and officially joined IRIS Creative, a collective based in Chengdu that includes Harikiri and Vinida Weng, where he debuted with his 2022 EP “Don Chino” that charted at Top 50 in China and included guest features from Higher Brothers member KnowKnow and GALI. Growing up between Hong Kong/Shanghai as an orchestral cellist where basketball was also a major extracurricular pursuit that led him to play for a team in Gran Canaria for multiple years, Haysen Cheng draws inspiration from personal life experiences and delivers grimy, hard hitting flows equally as well as surprisingly exquisite melodies through distinctively smooth transitions between native English and Mandarin.
