Artist YelloBoy GoneWild, Born Shawn Coles, is a lyricist rapper from Baltimore, Maryland. Pain and harsh reality affected YelloBoy at a young age. At the age of 4, he lost his father to a heart attack. The lost of his father impacted his life tremendously. References of his fathers death in his music today, shows that the lost is still one he deals with now. Fatherless but surrounded by love, the women in his life stepped up to make sure he didn’t become a negative statistic of Baltimore. Growing up in Baltimore, YelloBoy was surrounded by drugs, murders, and the Art of Rap. “I been around drugs before i knew was drugs was,” states artist YelloBoy GoneWild. His mom, grandmother, and sister bridged their morals together and as a team worked together to raise him to be the man he’s become today. 
 
 YelloBoy GoneWild grew up on music. “I can remember my mom playing the oldies or watching the Temptations as a kid with my family and thinking to myself, I want to move crowds the way they did,” states Yelloboy GoneWild. At the age of 13, he started to do just that. While in St. Louis, Missouri and living with his sister, he began to write lyrics and recorded music himself. That year, at the age of 13, he released his first mixtape, “BodyMore Murda Land.”
