J Alston, a.k.a. the trap preacher was born in Plainfield, New Jersey and raised in Cameron North Carolina. 
 Born the youngest of three, in a very small town J Alston absorbed the reality around him but didn’t let it define him. At a young age he was able to balance concepts of duality and empathy. His musical palate is a balance of Gospel soul trap and blues. These were the sounds heard from every corner of his life. At age 22 he sold his car and move to Atlanta. This time in the industry allowed him to sharpen his skills while being around and touching bases with several up-and-coming artist, including future, the Migos, Taylor J, Johnny Cinco, Gucci Mane, and network and work with produces like honorable CNOTE BRON Zatoven Cassius, Jay cheese, and many more.
