Nu Boi was born on August 28th in Memphis, TN. He grew up on the north side of Memphis where he was raised by his late grandmother. Nu Boi began his journey into music by freestyling with other kids in his neighborhood. He then came up with the moniker “Mac E” In 2002, Nu Boi then known as Mac E stepped into the studio for the first time and realized this was his purpose. His music started to flood clubs, radio stations and you couldn’t be in any neighborhood in Memphis without hearing his raspy yet commanding voice along with his legendary “uh huh” playing in someone’s vehicle and or home. Mac E’s single “Got Deals” reached the airwaves and gained heavy rotation on several radio stations in Memphis and surrounding areas. His follow-up single “I’m On Dat X” played a major part in building a bigger following and solidified him as a heavy weight in the southern rap scene. Mac E then relocated to Atlanta, Ga. He then decided to change his moniker to reflect who he had become instead of who he was. He dropped the moniker of Mac E and renamed himself Nu Boi Mac E now known as Nu BOI has had the pleasure of working with Memphis’ own Yo Gotti, 8ball,Mjg, members of 3-6 Mafia and many more. He has been referenced as a legend in songs by chart topping artists such as Drake. He has been nominated countless times for many awards.He has graced and shared the same stage with P.Diddy, 8Ball & MJG, members of 3-6 mafia and more. Stay tuned.
