In his 10th album “Radical”,to be launched on December 3, 2021, BR is set to elate his listeners and broaden his audience by fusing the art of sampling, particularly OPM and folk, with more analog instruments such as the kulintang and wait for it… bass guitar. Sticking to his strengths while exploring different ideas, anyone who’ll come across his new projects can appreciate the additional attention BR has put on musical structure, dynamics and texture. His recent offerings like Tinikling, Bayan Ko and Panaginip might’ve given you hints as to the musical direction he’s headed. Nonetheless, it’s in this version of Bass Relief from which you’ll hear his most centered yet nuanced work to date. In “Radical” the songs Vibe Check, Jump the Gun and Seasons of Orion precisely describe how BR has grown into a more focused yet progressive artist - his approach has become more deliberate and definitive while maintaining the charm of spontaneity and unpredictability. With the creative zone he’s in, Bass Relief aims to do collabs with more producers and DJs in the near future.
