Mzwaa is an artist from Manzini who’s shifting the paradigm of music in Eswatini through genre-bending and captivating lyricism. His love for music was inspired by his parents who are avid lovers and collectors of music. His father exposed him to Jazz music, while his mother the Rhythm and Blues from the Motown era. The Manzini-based artist first bust onto the scene by winning the 2018 MTN Bushfire Firefly competition and went on to perform at the 2018 MTN Bushfire Festival. Mzwaa made a game changing impression with the release of his eclectic and fresh RnB/Soul infused anthem, I Got It, released in October that year. In 2019, Mzwaa finally released his highly anticipated debut EP titled Right On Time. A blend of R&B, Soul and Hip-Hop woven together by stories of tribulation, triumph, love and aspiration told through the words of an optimistic Swazi youth. The EP earned him two nominations at the 2019 MTN SWAMA Awards under the "Best Newcomer of the Year" and "Best Collaboration" categories in which Mzwaa went on to win "Best Collaboration" for Lutsandvo featuring Velemseni. At the 2020 MTN SWAMA Awards Mzwaa won Best Music Video of the Year for the Lutsandvo music video from his debut EP. Mzwaa has since cemented his name as one of Eswatini’s top emerging talents working with a variety of artists such as Tendaness, Tru Hitz, Grixxly & Sarnilo.
