There are few in the Australian music scene with a more polarising baptism of fire. Introduced to Hardcore and rap at 11 - Max Pasalic (Up Late) spent his early teens uploading beats & demos to Soundcloud and Youtube, collaborating with artists like BONES & The Virus and Antidote. Balancing a stacked touring schedule, production sessions and high-school studies by 17, he turned his attention to his own vocal abilities, finding break out success on Triple J with his band After Touch and signing to UNFD. In 2020 Pasalic brought together his emo rock & rap background to Up Late. He found early support from Triple J, Life Without Andy and Pilerats - who would call him ‘2020’s break-out’. Straddling the lines between artists like, nothing,nowhere. & Oliver Francis - Up Late released his debut ep STARS co-written with Nat J. Sherwood, featuring collaborations with Moonbase & Hearteyes In 2021 he sunk his teeth into Void Of Vision's Hyperdaze - Up Late Remix, remixing the song alongside Sherwood before releasing his own YOU PEAKED IN HIGH SCHOOL! Soon after Melbourne e-sports juggernauts, Fortress approached Up Late to pen their theme song, TIDAL WAVE (Fortress Theme) together with Sherwood. Now Up Late presents TOTAL FUCKING DARKNESS! - his sophomore EP that spins hyperpop, rap & metal into a frantic six track that is equal parts glistening & devastating.
