A myriad of emotions, elements, and eccentricities energizes ORNAMENT AND CRIME. The Los Angeles-based duo relies on the respective individual creative personalities of its co-founders—Poolside producer Alex Kemp and Grizfolk drummer Bill Delia. Their alchemy of electronic synth-craft and organic instrumentation doubles as a soundtrack for a rotating cast of dynamic vocalists to charm and captivate. Together, they deliver hazy bliss for the dancefloor with just the right amount of disco glitter and synthpop shimmer. After quietly building a buzz, the musicians unpack a fascinating vision on their 2024 LP, Ones, for Nettwerk Music Group. Harnessing uncontainable musical chemistry, Alex and Bill formally introduced themselves as ORNAMENT AND CRIME back in 2021. Their debut EP, Another Night On The Astral Plane, gained traction right out of the gate. Beyond praise from Buzzbands.la and more, The Deli hailed lead single “You’re A Mess” [feat. Virginia Palms] as a “laid-back, semi-tropical groove workout.” The two-piece maintained their momentum with “No Other Lover” [feat. Virginia Palms] and a fan favorite Remix of Grizfolk’s “The Ripple”. Throughout 2023, they collaborated in-person out of a Venice, CA studio, building the foundation for what would become Ones.
