Biography

Through the architectural manipulation of sound, Chantal Michelle constructs intricate and densely textured works that disorient and immerse, inviting alternate forms of perception. Her body of work includes site-responsive installations, multichannel compositions, ensemble performances, and recorded material. Michelle has presented her work internationally, including at Fridman Gallery [US], Cafe OTO [UK], MUTEK [MX], Het HEM [NL], KM28 [DE], The Stone [US], and Morphine Raum [DE]. Her discography has been published on Dinzu Artefacts, SUPERPANG, Warm Winters Ltd., Somewhere Press, and Injazero, among other labels. She has collaborated with composers and musicians such as Lea Bertucci, Germán Bringas, Eliana Glass, Joanna Mattrey, and Patrick Shiroishi. In 2022, she formed the experimental noise project ⎤⎤⎤ with multidisciplinary artist Grace Villamil.
