Nyakallo, or Kallo's early life was painted with the vibrant hues of Soweto. Kallo defines her genre as alternative, with a strong foundation in soul. This choice stems from the myriad of influences she encountered growing up. Her music radiates raw emotion, made richer by the diverse languages and cultures that have influenced her life. For Kallo, music started as an echo from her 4- year-old self singing radio tunes, a passion that only deepened by the age of 8. Her songwriting journey is infused with poetic inspirations from her high school days. Kallo's professional musical journey took flight in 2015, marked by her enrolment in music college, COPA. This experience gave her exposure to a community of musicians and the opportunity to record her first track. Soon after that, Kallo built up a dedicated fan base for herself through performing at various shows and open mic in and around Johannesburg and thereafter releasing her debut EP, "Love Over Everything“ with her breakout single, Ho Monate. Kallo’s career highlights include enthralling performances at the renowned Basha Uhuru Freedom Festival and a special event at the Danish ambassador's residence. Furthermore, her track "Ho monate" earned a spot on Hype Magazine's playlist #84. Kallo has also taken her shot at the TV show Idols, where she reached the second round.
