Originally hailing from Houston, TX, Tre Houston (Rowland W. Folensbee III) is a Grammy nominated, Emmy-award-winning Nashville-based Hip Hop artist, writer, and producer. Houston has been writing and producing music for two decades while performing in venues across the country and securing song placements in over 50 different television shows and films. He also owns and operates the music licensing firm The Musically Connected. Some of Houston’s television and film credits include songs featured in Empire, Glee, House of Lies, Hustle In Brooklyn, Queen America, Snowfall, The Rookie, Superstore, Stalker, Rush, American Horror Stories, All American, Children Ruin Everything, P-Valley, Red Rocket, Thumper, Ingrid Goes West, NBC and CBS sports programming, live performances in both seasons of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s HitRECord on TV, commercials for Suave and Michelob Ultra, and even The Lonely Island's "How to Tie Your Shoes" special on Sesame Street. He co-wrote two separate walk-up songs for MLB All-Star Mookie Betts in 2021 and 2023. He also performed live in Los Angeles, California alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt for the premiere of HitRECord on TV’s second season. Houston was a semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition for 2013, 2015, and 2018 and was a part of the creative team that won an Emmy in 2014 for their work on HitRECord on TV. He currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee where he continues to work on numerous musical projects.
