Tentación

Biography

Mia, as she was known for this one and only release, is probably better known as Ana.
Born Ana Maria Rodríguez in Cuba, the Rodríguez family relocated to Florida in 1979 when Ana was 5. By the time she was 10, she was signed to Parc Records, a division of CBS/Sony. Her first album was released in spring 1987, with the international smash "Shy Boys" as the lead single. In 1990, she followed it up with “Body Language (Expanded Version)"; which was produced by the likes of Maurice Starr, Kiki Garcia and fellow teen pop idol Debbie Gibson. This record also features fan favorite “Angel Of Love”, a duet with Jordan Knight of New Kids On The Block.
After leaving CBS, Ana remained active in the music industry by demoing and planning her next move. After over a decade, she reemerged with a new look and a new name. Contract limitations forced her to release 2003’s Latin pop styled “Tentación” under the name Mia. The album was produced by the famed Rudy Perez, and featured the single “Convéncete”. Ana (as Mia) was nominated for Best New Artist for the Premio Lo Nuestro the following year.
