Nathan Shay Elias-Kocivar (NSEK), creator of NOiSEMAKER dub, is a multi-instrumentalist, dub enthusiast, music educator, and producer, who creates multi-genres under the label NSEK. He infuses his music with respect for the tradition of Jamaican reggae-dub, while taking his audience on a sonic exploration using deep bass lines, a tasteful combination of organic and synthetic sounds, groove, and space. By the age of 10, lil’ Natey was performing on piano, sax, and guitar. It was at this time that he was introduced to Midnite, Steel Pulse, and Gong Fu tea (a traditional style of drinking tea) whose influences can be heard in his music if you listen carefully. He is also a founding member of the 9 piece band BOOSTIVE, who has performed alongside Thievery Corporation, Slightly Stoopid, Dirtwire, Don Carlos, and many more. As NOiSEMAKER dub, his live performance consists of live dubbing of his multiple instruments, including; sax, synths, electric cello, flutes, percussion, and vocalists. NOiSEMAKER dub is known among his community as a musical genius with a strong message that can be felt through the vibrational resonance and lyrics of his compositions: of unity, respect, love for each other, the planet, and spirituality. “Who feels it, knows it.” When not performing or producing, Nathan is in the classroom educating hundreds of music students and preparing to share his enormous portfolio of unreleased music.
