18 year old producer, singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Rafael Gell aka Between makes a wide range of genres inspired by his diverse roots. Born into a musical family, he grew up on tour with his parents performing reggae and hip-hop for the first 3 years of his life. Subsequently music became his 2nd language. After kicking to the beat in the womb, he started drumming before he could walk, getting a drum set for his 4th birthday, and playing drum kit live with his parents in front of hundreds of people before the age of 5. Rafael had a tech free childhood, playing all acoustic instruments until he was allowed access to a computer. Then at the tender age of 11 Rafael started producing music and has been honing his craft ever since. In 2019 he started releasing music under the alias Between. Now having put out an album, 7 EP's, and an array of singles including collaborations with Limi, Yung Sum, and Keylime. For Rafael the "Between" alias stands for a lot of things he values in his life. His multiracial background, his class and culture diverse upbringing, his belief in balance of self, his concept of reality, and much more. Rafael looks to the future discovering new sounds and making music authentic to who he is and what he feels with a message to the world, "I hope someday everyone can express how they see the world and we can understand".
