BLACK PALMS ORCHESTRA is a cinematic band project by Christian Fuchs. Since 2016, the versatile musician (Fetish 69, Bunny Lake, Die Buben im Pelz) has been working with various collaborators on songs from fictional films and series. Stars of the Austrian and international indie scene meet on the two albums "Sad Moon Rising" and "Tropical Gothic". From Oliver Welter (Naked Lunch) to Ankathie Koi, Monsterheart, Medina Rekic (White Miles) to underground rock icons like Scott McCloud (Girls vs. Boys) or Jonas Almquist (The Leather Nun). The music oscillates between rock, indie pop, country and electro influences. 2022 closes a circle for the BLACK PALMS ORCHESTRA. On the new album "Palm Fiction", the musicians around Christian Fuchs cover actual pieces from film and television. The selection will range from "Twin Peaks" and "Eraserhead" to "True Detective" or "The Walking Dead". The advance single "Nightcall" feat. Monsterheart, from the Neonoir masterpiece "Drive", surprises with pulsating electro rock. Live, BLACK PALMS ORCHESTRA focuses on reduction and minimalist brute force in addition to David Lynch-like atmosphere. Besides Fuchs, the stage line-up includes bassist Christof Baumgartner, guitarist Mikala Nørgaard and drummer Maximilian Schachner.
