There are some unions that are just stellar. Maria Rodés is a Spanish folk singer well known internationally counting even with the singer and composer David Byrne from Talking Heads among her followers. David Rodríguez is one of the key names on the Spanish independent scene. He was part of bands like BACH IS DEAD, Beef or Telefilme and a very important piece for La Bien Querida and Soleá Morente's last album. He is a featured composer and producer and, of course, we cannot leave out his alliance with Joe Crepúsculo in the project Junco y Diamante. Actually, he shows off his irony and cynicism on the albums he releases with La Estrella de David, but also lets us catch glimpses of his warmth and the romanticism that runs through his veins. Both artists have decided to do a project together. MARIA RODÉS Y LA ESTRELLA DE DAVID is their own special twist on pop, full of personality, excitement, identity and imagination. They offer us this exercise in bluegrass called “Hacer El Amor”, with its pedal-steel, its syncopated rhythm, and its charming lyrics full of affection. It is an advance of what will be “Contigo”, the album we will be able to enjoy in 2021.
