Biography

Rinzen is a Los Angeles-based producer & DJ whose melodic, cinematic soundscapes evoke futuristic worlds and far-away planets. His 2024 debut album ‘Bend the The Light’ was released on Lane 8’s This Never Happened label and soundtracks a near-future, high-tech world. Rinzen aka Michael Sundius began honing his innate gift for storytelling as a respected music journalist. He kick-started his artist career in 2017 when he was signed by deadmau5 to the Canadian’s renowned electronic imprint, mau5trap, which became his home for 3 consecutive EPs. Following this success, Rinzen soon found himself on tour with deadmau5 himself, performing over 20 dates with Zimmerman across the world, from Verti Music Hall in Berlin, to Fabrik in Madrid, to Printworks in London. Firmly cemented as a talent on the rise, Rinzen’s music next found a home on an impressive pedigree of international labels: everywhere from John Digweed’s legendary Bedrock label, to Sasha’s Last Night on Earth imprint and Rufus Du Sol’s Rose Ave. With his music being played by global titans like Tale Of Us and Carl Cox, Rinzen was soon appearing at shows including EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, and Lightning in a Bottle 2024 sees Rinzen release his debut album: ‘Bend to the Light’. The 10-track LP, on Lane 8’s This Never Happened imprint, offers his most comprehensive body of work yet. The label stands at the cusp of a burgeoning melodic house movement, with Rinzen poised as the imprint’s breakout new star.
