Biography

Babalola Ibrahim Remilekun, also known as Cent Remy, is a distinguished Nigerian artist who has garnered immense affection from his audience. Since 2008, Cent Remy has consistently produced quality music and continues to refine his sound and musical genre to captivate his listeners. His yearning vocals and vibrant, kinetic rhythms adeptly blend the classic Afrobeat sounds of legends such as Fela Kuti and the traditional Fuji sounds of icons like Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, all within a contemporary Nigerian context. After making a name for himself with popular singles like "Ori Mi" and "Shanawole" featuring Portable, the singer released his debut EP, "Fitila," in 2020. He continued his musical journey in 2024 with singles such as "Champs Pain" and collaborations with Yung Effissy. Babalola Ibrahim Remilekun was born and raised in the Alimosho District of Lagos, Nigeria. It was here that he developed a musical style that pays homage to the rhythmic foundations of Afrobeat, particularly those pioneered by Fela Kuti and Fuji music pioneer Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, while seamlessly integrating the vibrant style of modern Afropop.
