Biography

“To just listen to what they were saying and how they were saying it I knew I could and wanted to do this for myself” Inspired by the likes of Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Joyner Lucas & Lil Wayne while also an influence of R&B and Rock from artists such as 6LACK, The Weeknd, and Thousand Foot Krutch, M-Hunt is a diverse artist. Growing up in a small suburb of New Jersey, the last thing you would expect is hard-hitting rhymes, intricate flows and youthful exuberance, but that is exactly what M-Hunt whose real name is Matt Stotz, brings to the table. Between mental health issues, harassment, heartbreaks, death and misfortunes, Hunt found his voice in music. It wasn’t until 2021 where Hunt would release his first major record Empire (off his 2022 project Whatever Happens, Happens) and Money Talks which landed placement on ThisIs50 that was able to truly break him into the music scene and give him notability. His 2023 follow up project (Sorry, I'm Like This ) was able to garner such attention as well. With the hit single Spazzin' with Nef The Pharaoh who Hunt recalls listening to since he was in High School before even releasing music, Hunt was able to show he was able to diversify his style, bringing in more R&B elements to his creations. Since then there have been a few songs that dropped including the song Rescue Me which was able to tie together a Jersey club beat with emotional storytelling, Hunt keeps proving his creative expertise.
