Born in the Balkans and raised in Chicago, music has always been a way of life for Jasmina. At the age of 10, she landed the lead role in an opera and sang in the Chicago Children Choir and Lyric Opera chorus. She studied at Oberlin College in Ohio, after which she continued her music career in her native Croatia. She discovered Jazz in high school, and extensively performed with a quartet in Croatia, Chicago, as well as New York City. She was also a headliner at the Pula Jazz Festival in 2018. After yearning for creative inspiration, Jasmina relocated to New York City in 2016. After just a month, she booked her first steady singing job at the historic George's at Astoria Kaufman Studios. She performed at various venues in the city and studied with legends Jay Clayton and Marion Cowings. Jasmina began singing traditional Balkan music several years ago and has received accolades for her performances from audiences in the Balkans and New York City. In April 2018, she performed Bosnian 'sevdah,' as well as jazz and soul, at the closing ceremony of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival in New York City. A long-time lover of electronic music, Jasmina has been writing and recording vocals for several producers in Croatia the US, including Skender Makota, Laseech, and the Burner Brothers. She is currently working on her debut album of original music, an EP of R&B/electronic music that she has written and produced, and a DJ/vocalist live act.
