I am Marques Kilgore, better known as, Kasual OWNLY. I grew up in Bronzeville, located on the southside of Chicago, IL. For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to all forms of music, resulting me to attend Chicago High School for the Arts (Chiarts). I am fascinated with the ability to put different sounds together, creating images through sound. Music evokes emotion, triggers nostalgia, and I believe contributes to healing, a balm to those ailing. Music transcends financial status, race, gender, and age. It is truly a language for all people. Being able to bring this gift, and share it with the world is truly a humbling privilege. I began focusing on writing and creating music since 2016, being the start of my senior year of high school. Performance has always been challenging for myself, so I am going to attend any open mic available, to strengthen my skills, as my goal is to perform as natural as it is for me to write music. I am gladly looking forward to reaching your ears soon!
