Biography

Composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist Analea creates neo-soul jazz funk paired with introspective lyrics. Based in Brooklyn, New York, they are crafting a new project and performing locally with their personal outfit featuring Alzena Bell Gilbert (keys) and Dandy McDowell (drums), and as a bassist for local artists such as Ghosdee, Robot X, Sarah Anjali, and Kamra. Raised in Broward County, Florida, Analea Harris was exposed to its vibrant art culture from the ripe age of three, vastly different from their historical birthplace of Salem, Massachusetts. An adolescence of exploring a variety of mediums, genres, and styles led to more professional pursuits. After studying at Berklee College of Music’s Five-Week Music Performance Intensive in 2016 and graduating from Fort Lauderdale's Dillard Center for the Arts in 2018, Analea studied vocal performance at Columbia College Chicago and began developing their artistry. Collaborating with peers in Chicago, they created Grow and Beautiful People. Relocating to New York in 2021, Analea has been performing songs from these projects as well as unreleased compositions with a collective of talented musicians. They have received support from Creatives Rebuild New York’s Guaranteed Income for Artists program; performed at many events, most notably the 114th NAACP National Convention; and most recently collaborated with Splice on a brand photo shoot and blog interview.
