London based "Revolutionary experimental rock music" - Bass driven music for the evolution of humanity. Taking influences from a myriad of genres. The Gourd Delusion was brought up on country artists such as Dolly Parton and Glenn Miller, before moving on to their more rebellious teenage years, which were inspired by punk rock. They spent a lot of time listening to artists such Pennywise, NOFX and blink-182. It was this music that eventually led to The Gourd Delusion picking up a bass guitar, which gives credence to the fact that all the music is heavily focused around the bass lines. Musical learning took a leap in the direction of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rage Against The Machine and Primus. Many years spent studying some of the best bass players finally led to The Gourd Delusion's love of jazz, and they now takes inspiration from some other great artists such as Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Wes Montgomery and Victor Wooten. With such a diverse range of influences, The Gourd Delusion's music really is something 'out of the ordinary'. The roots of The Gourd Delusion stem back many a year, when the light of mathematics was shone upon a young lad. The seed of ontology grew and slowly developed into a burning desire to make a change in the world. Belief in the power of music to spread important messages fuels the fire of will, and drives The Gourd Delusion's music. The soundtrack to the revolution is laced with pumpkins. Do you suffer from The Gourd Delusion?
