Emma Platais grew up in the U.S., Central America and Brazil inspiring her to write poems and songs in a mix of Spanish, English and Portuguese. The classics of bossa nova and American folk have profoundly influenced her writing style, and her latest EP, “Profundezas” pays tribute to her ancestral lineage, the energies that guide us back home and the creative journey of discovering ones voice. In 2022, Platais made the leap to pursue her artistic career in Mexico City. Since her move, she has worked and collaborated with artists such as Loli Molina, Hernan Hecht, David Aguilar, Ulises Hadjis and Patrick Watson. In 2024 she will be releasing a new EP and is currently working on projects with fellow independent artists Luz Elena (fromY La Bamba), Rulo, Madame Récamier and Pedro Fonte.
