After the well-received ‘Closer to God’ album, Pantheïst are returning with an EP containing a lengthy new studio track, as well as a professional recording of the band’s set at ‘Organic Doom Vol I’. The title track of the EP is the first recording featuring Pantheïst’s Cardiff-based line-up, as well as soprano Linda Dumitru. In the best tradition of classic EPs, there are other surprises such as the lead vocals being performed by Jake Harding (Grave Lines, Jo Quail) who has previously collaborated with Kostas in the psychedelic/classic rock band Landskap. Another remarkable deviation from the past, are the lyrical themes which are inspired by current political affairs, rather than individual, psychological preoccupations. Mark Mynett (Kill II This, producer of the last two My Dying Bride albums) recorded the event and mixed and mastered the whole performance. One of the longest standing bands in the atmospheric doom genre, Pantheïst have been founded in 2000 and released six full-length albums to this date. The band has performed gigs in 15 countries since 2002, sharing the stage with acts such as Candlemass, Immortal, Moonspell, Swallow the Sun, Esoteric, Skepticism,While Heaven Wept, Mourning Beloveth, Evoken and The Ruins of Beverast. Pantheïst have often been described as one of the standard bearers of the atmospheric funeral doom genre, with their albums regularly included in ‘Best doom metal albums’ lists.
