Ndlelanhle Biyase better known in the music industry as “ABDUS” was born in Clermont, Durban. He was introduced to Hip-Hop Music by his brother, and fell in love from that time on, leading him to start writing his own rhymes at the age of 10. Abdus contributed highly to the growth of Durban Hip Hop. He initiated Friday Ciphers, that were hosted at the Bus Terminals, which led him going to studio for the first time in 2004 He recorded his first ever Mixtape in 2004, titled “Terminally Ill” which featured other Emcees he started with at the Bus Terminals. His most popular Mixtape, FixTape, that was released in 2009 generated him 3 Hype Magazine Awards nominations on the same year and he took home the Best Lyricist Award. The award really made him take off more,the following year he went on to support PROKid, Zubz, & Tumi and the Volume The innovative rap style of ABDUS revolves around raw hip hop with rock elements to it, but easy to the ear for all ages to listen to. The Durban rapper has an exceptional gift for language and his songs are filled with clever puns and wordplay. He is a charismatic and energetic performer, one of the main reason he gets a lot of appreciation. Abdus he refuses to follow the ordinary trend and become just another hardboiled macho rapper.
