Spanish-American pianist Juan Carlos Fernández-Nieto made his debut at the age of sixteen with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto in d minor under the baton of Lutz Köhler to critical acclaim in a live broadcast on Spanish National Radio. Juan Carlos has concertized all over the world. He has collaborated with orchestras such as, Orquesta de Radio Televisión Española, The Chamber Orchestra of New York, Orquesta Nacional de Colombia, Covent Garden Chamber Orchestra, Orquesta de Valencia, Orchestra Sinfonica di Bari, Orquesta Nacional de El Salvador, Orquesta Sinfonica de Castilla y León, among others, and has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Teatro Colón, St Martin in the Fields and St James’s Picadilly in London, Chicago Cultural Center, Royal Dublin Society, Palau de la Música and many others. Juan Carlos has performed in festivals in Europe and the US, such as Klavier-Festival Ruhr, The Holland Music Sessions, Norfolk Music at Yale, Stony Brook and Wintergreen Performing Arts. Past engagements include chamber music performances with the Tokyo String Quartet, Quiroga String Quartet, as well as performances with the Grammy-nominated "Yale Cellos" under the direction of Aldo Parisot. Juan Carlos is a prize winner of many prestigious competitions internationally, such as XIX Paloma O’Shea Santander International Piano Competition, Iturbi International Piano Competition, 56 Jaen International Piano Competition, among others.
