Known as a dynamic performer and for being the front man and producer for the psychedelic soul band Monophonics, Finnigan has a track record well respected among music fans and his peers. His hands on approach in the studio is a big part of his trademark sound. Raw and gritty rhythms, tender and emotive songs, lush and symphonic arrangements. Finnigan guides every recording from it’s conception at his studio Transistor Sound, all the way to the record pressing plant, providing a powerful yet singular voice missing from soul music. While it’s easy to hear him invoking a golden era of soul and R&B music, Finnigan captures a timelessness that transcends the “retro” label so often cast on music with a gritty aesthetic.
