Biography

Poor Saturday lunch smell of panel buildings, Eurotrash music booming from MTv, hanging out on concrete ping pong tables, and riding the hell out of a battered BMX – Vic Willow's childhood milieu in a sentence. The 1987 born Hungarian alternative musician grew up in a post-Soviet housing estate and debuted solo with the album 'Humanoid' in 2019. From 2005 to 2014, he was the frontman of shock rock band Dr. Melancholia, making him a controversial figure in the Hungarian dark / gothic scene. In 2020, he guest-starred in 9 songs on First Aid 4 Souls' 'Fire' on Alfa Matrix. In Vic Willow’s songs the experience of being an outsider, being lost and screwed up is a recurring motif. The singer enjoys playing roles both on stage and in his lyrics. In his early years, this role-playing also meant denying his own roots. The 2022 concept album 'MELANCHOLIA' is a kind of new self-definition. In his sound, Vic spices electronics with sometimes jazzy or oriental flavors, with guitars stroking here and striking there, while Eastern Europeanness now appears as an emphasized element of identity in his visual world.
