My name is Ohms. Well, that’s my performance name. My real name is Brett Saguid. Call me whatever you want to. Also, I’m Asian – Filipino to be exact. I’m a hip-hop artist / rapper. I know the nearby picture may make that last sentence confusing, but I am. Occasionally, I’ll bust out the guitar. I like to describe my music as funky and old-school with a little bit of flavor. “What kind of flavor?”, you ask. I don’t know…just…flavor. I’m from Cranston, Rhode Island. 401 baby! I currently live in Boston, Massachusetts. I got into rap by watching rap battles in college. Dumbfoundead was my favorite battler. He definitely inspired me to become rapper. Not a rap battler; just a rapper. Early in my journey, I became the 4th member of a local Rhode Island rap group, Sacred Nation. The other members are: Johnny ConCepTz, Mic Diaper, and Drive. I’m still a member and we are still great pals. Soon, after joining, Johnny ConCepTz and I became affiliated with the juggernaut Hip-Hop movement, Grind Mode Cypher. After auditioning to take part in their cyphers, we soon became regulars and still rock with them to this day. Now, after some years rapping on-and-off, I’m currently working to push out more of my music and become more recognized. Wish me luck.
