Operator (listed Operator (UK) on digital stores) is the alias of South Coast UK Techno artist Rich Jones, known for his percussive, hypnotic, heavily rhythmic grooves on labels such as MORD, Symbolism, Mindtrip, Audio Assault, Singular, Blue Hour, CLR and his own imprint, Gnosis Records. Starting out with a residency in his home town in 1999, Rich has been spinning records and making Techno and House for two decades now, with over 20 vinyl releases to his name. Rich launched the Operator project alongside his label Gnosis Records (pronounced No-Sis - greek noun for enlightenment/vision of spiritual realities in Gnosticism), in 2012, after successes releasing music under his own name on labels like Soma, Kanzlermamt & 8 Sided Dice. Behind the predominantly urban aesthetic, hedonism and hype, Rich truly believes in the art form of Techno, seeing it as both the most futuristic and deeply primal form of electronic dance music . His label's aesthetic, and his consistently heavily rhythmic sound, reflect this Earthy, spiritual vision for Techno. He has manned the decks at events and clubs like Jaded (London), Fold (London), Tresor (Berlin), Play Techno (Kiev), and Konstruct (San Francisco), and, over the years, had his music remixed by legends such as Mark Broom and Joey Beltram, You can find his DJ mixes on the RYC, Invites Choice, Ilian Tape and Mindtrip podcasts, amongst others. Rich also performs with Dutch artist Radial on a live improvised hardware act 'Aeons At Play'.
