Biography

www.jennyribeiro.com Jenny Ribeiro, soprano, is known for her dedication to contemporary classical music, creating the roles of Amy (The North Arcade) and the Cat (Jack Prelutsky’s Something Big Has Been Here) in Seattle and The Composer (The Two Cents Opera), Alice (Wonderland), Aphrodite (Sappho in the Mix) and Martha (Thomas Pasatieri’s God Bless Us Everyone) in New York City. More well known opera roles include Pamina (The Magic Flute), Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro), Nella (Gianni Schicchi), Musetta (La Boheme), Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), Serpina (La serva padrona) and Giulietta (The Tales of Hoffmann). Audiences have had the chance to see Jenny on stage with Regina Opera, Dicapo Opera, Amore Opera, Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra, Opera Manhattan, Utopia Opera and the National Yiddish Theatre. She also performed the role of a Coryphee (Le Roi Malgre Lui) with the Bard Summerscape Festival and has been seen at Carnegie Hall as Elvira (Song of Norway). As a concert artist, Jenny has championed the work of young composers. She has been the recipient of two Vox Novus 15-Minutes-of-Fame commission cycles, in which she was able to perform pieces written expressly for her by composers all over the globe. She also recorded Matt Frey's chamber opera One-Eleven Heavy for an EP album which was released in May of 2019.
