Purrkur Pillnikk was formed in Reykjavik on the 8th of March 1981 and played the first gig the day after. We are Purrkur Pillnikk: Bragi Ólafsson, Ásgeir Bragason, Friðrik Erlingsson and Einar Örn. We entered the studio on April 1st 1981 and recorded a 10 track 7" single, which was released shortly after. It was called Tilf. Next up was our LP Ekki Enn which we recorded in London at Southern Studios in the month of August 1981. In the spring of 1982 we toured England and support to The Fall. After the tour we recorded Googooplex. Our last single was No Time To Think. We were very active in our time of existence. We played about 2 concerts every week, and our swansong was in August of 1982, when we decided to go onto new ventures. You will find here on Spotify all our catalogue plus Maskinan which was released later, but contained 5 new songs Words For Death which we played once, at our final concert. Now in 2023 we are re-releasing our catalogue of all our albums, plus new recordings of older söngs. Also added are new recordings of 5 songs, never recorded until May 2023
