Born in 1951, Hyldon has been making a living from music since he was 14 years old and together with Tim Maia and Cassiano, he formed the sacred triad of Brazilian soul music. In 1973, he recorded his first single "Na Rua, na Chuva, na Fazenda (Casinha de Sapê). The following year, he released another single "As Dores do Mundo". After these two hit songs, he finally managed to record his long-awaited album "Na Rua, na Chuva, na Fazenda". In the mid-1990s, he made a comeback to the media with the remake of "Na Rua, na Chuva, na Fazenda (Casinha de Sapê)" by Kid Abelha and "As Dores do Mundo" by Jota Quest. At the same time, Hyldon's songs are included in movie soundtracks such as "City of God", "Carandiru" e "Antônia", among others. In 2012, by the invitation of the Portuguese band Orelha Negra, he took part in Rock in Rio Lisbon. In 2017, he shared the Sunset Stage with singer and songwriter Ana Cañas. In 2019 with his friend Mano Brown, Bootsy Collins (former Parliament) and Carlos Dafé (former Black Rio Band). In 2022, he releases his 17th album, called "Parceiros", in which he celebrates partnerships, both from music and life – on the cover, a wedding photo with his wife. Among the tracks, songs composed with Tim Maia, Caetano Veloso and a new song with Nando Reis. In June, for the first time in the US, Azymuth will support Marcos Valle and Hyldon, who has NEVER previously performed in the US for two nights with four special Brazilian Samba Soul shows.
