Ellem’s musical journey is one of dedication and grit. Having grown up in the east end of London the second daughter of a teacher and carpenter she set her heart on the unlikely career of music and went out to get it. Following her dream to Nashville, NYC and finally settling in Los Angeles, California, Ellem cut her writing chops through sessions with her now long term writing partner and producer Owen Thomas. With over 200 songs in TV shows, feature films, commercials and theatrical trailers Ellem’s unique voice and writing style has been the soundtrack to a generation of programming. Alongside her own vocal prowess, Ellem has also been the writing force behind both major and indie recording artists, both in the UK and the US including one of this years breakout stars, Hayley Kiyoko. On a day to day basis, you’ll mostly find Ellem behind a microphone drinking tea singing her way through life’s ups, downs and side eye curveballs.
