Biography

Lansing, Michigan is fertile ground for both rising and established musical talent. Solo Brooks, commonly known as Sareem Poems, is a hometown hero and family man who proudly waves the flag for his stomping grounds with forward-thinking faith. Sareem first burst onto the scene in 1998 as part of the legendary Hip Hop collective, LA Symphony. They etched their names into Rap folklore with a slew of albums and releases which were all well received.
In 2007, Sareem decided to pursue a solo career and dropped Blooming Sounds. Taking on board the plethora of lessons learned through his adventures in the land of music, Sareem partnered up with Illect Recordings in 2014 and encountered a creative tour de force. He has since released four albums including Mind Over Matter with Ess Be (which was crowned Album Of The Year by Liquid Magazine) and 88 To Now with Newselph which was featured on Vibe.com.
Sareem describes himself as a "high-end blue-collar" emcee. With a love for Jazz. Horns, Keys, and other live instrumentation are skilfully exercised to express a level of musicianship light-years beyond earth years. By the musicians, Sareem collaborates with on his projects. All of these components are why his music breaks barriers and reaches people in the high rise buildings as well as the everyday folk on the backblocks.
