Joya (@sheisjoya) is an independent artist, singer, songwriter born and raised in Hong Kong. Joya first began releasing songs from her apartment - including the sarcastic “apocalypse song” when she couldn’t leave her house during the pandemic. She soon after released her debut EP “She is Joya” in 2023 and has since been featured on SCMP, Tatler, Mixmag Asia, Timeout, MTV Asia, and more. Some of her recent performances include the Music Matters Festival in Singapore, PhoenixFest at AXA Wonderland, Club Bbang, Gay Games Hong Kong and more, where she continues to eliminate any doubt that she was made for the stage. With a versatile repertoire of original music and collaborations including with the National Geographic, Apple, DJ Mengzy and others - she continues to evolve and bring growing, passionate, community with her. Less known about Joya, is that she is also SVP of Product for a tech company and a Google women Tech maker ambassador, with a background in political science and global health.She also identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community, Christian, and a number of things but most importantly, not one thing. Her music is an extension of her beliefs in the importance of inclusion, diversity, and the difficult conversations (or songs) that get us there. Connect with @sheisjoya for more.
