After a year and some change of going to therapy and realizing she is her most important project, Syd Jones released her third body of work Visions From The Ville December 5th, 2020. Syd is known for being transparent — rapping about her struggles mostly all pointing back to her not having guidance as an adolescent all while being clever with her bars. She tells these stories in her first two projects Jones Street and The Blue Period. Syd is getting more and more comfortable in her skin as an artist. She is embracing all parts of her life (that she used to be embarrassed of) that makes her who she is — flaws and all. Growing up in a small town can be compared to a fish in a small fish bowl. You know there’s more to the world but it’s hard to see that or grow because of the environment you’re in. No matter the circumstances, Syd knew there was more to life than growing up and repeating the same damaging patterns she witnessed from her family. Instead of following that path and dealing drugs, Syd is serving hope.
