Kenneth C M Young, A.K.A. Kenny Young, is a multi-award winning Scottish composer and music supervisor for video games. Classically trained and immersed in both traditional Scottish and Appalachian folk music from a young age, Kenny’s broad musical heritage, world-class game development experience, ear for detail and natural curiosity have resulted in a body of musical work which ranges from playful genre-mashups to emotionally vivid soundscapes, all woven together to be a deeply integrated part of the player experience. Career highlights include his contributions towards the BAFTA-nominated scores for Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet (2008, with co-composers Daniel Pemberton and Mat Clark) and Tearaway (2013, with co-composer Brian D'Oliveira), the GANG-nominated scores to Tethered (2016) and WonderWorlds (Original Soundtrack) (2017), the HMMA-nominated score to ASTRO BOT RESCUE MISSION Original Soundtrack (2018) and, most recently, the scores for Astro's Playroom (2020), which comes pre-installed on every PlayStation 5 console, and the smash hit ASTRO BOT (Original Soundtrack) (2024).
