Casey James Murphy was born and raised in Rochester, New York. He began experimenting with music with his first guitar at the age of 14. After being in and out of various bands he settled on more of a one-man show. Heavily inspired by Atari Teenage Riot he purchased his first midi controller with the intention of programming blast beats to write punk riffs over and just do a lot of shouting. However, when you grew up listening to not only digital hardcore but hip-hop, Jazz, ska, jungle, industrial and a mixed bag of other things, you too would recognize that once you start experimenting with programming the possibilities are virtually endless. His drum loops started wavering from heavy to funky and the Dreadful Operator became a jack of many trades. True mastery is most meaningful not when it is achieved but when it is maintained. With that philosophy, he does not sit still or get too comfortable with any one style. His releases are eclectic with the only consistent theme being his passion. He now resides in Los Angeles where he continues to create, transform, share, perform and educate.
