Tropics is the project of British electronic musician Christopher Ward. Producer, composer and live musician, he creates dreamy, often vocal-driven ambient electronica with occasional nods to RnB, house, and a host of other eclectic influences. His music quickly gained the attention of The Fader, RA, and Pitchfork, noting him a “voracious and accomplished student of sound”, while also gaining further support through DJ mix contributions to i-D, Clash and Dublab. The evolution of Tropics' catalogue showcases a multifaceted ability to bend genre, while consolidating influences through a variety of sonic styles. Based in Los Angeles, Tropics’ collective output also includes collaborations with Badbadnotgood, Petite Noir, Oscar #Worldpeace, remixes by Machinedrum & FaltyDL, and also being sampled by award-winning hip-hop/Rnb artists Wale and 6lack.
