Ivars Pētersons is a rock’n’roll singer/songwriter from Latvia. Influenced by artists such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Chuck Berry, Pētersons developed a unique style - similar to the rock’n’roll era. Pētersons was introduced to the music of the 50s and early 60s by his father, who listened to magnificent pieces of vinyl from his impressive collection. Pētersons started learning rock’n’roll classics in his early 20s, writing down the lyrics and learning the melodies on his piano by ear. In 1995 Pētersons formed his first rock’n’roll band “CRAZY HEADS”, with Eduards Glotovs, Ingus Feldmanis and Vilnis Strods. From 2003 to the present Pētersons has been the lead singer in “Petersons Band”, performing in Latvia and outside its borders with Jonatans Rācenājs, Bruno Priekulis, and Indris Orubs. It’s no secret that celebrating his birthday with a concert every five years has become a tradition. It began in 2008, when Pētersons had his first solo concert “The Songs of Elvis” in Dzintaru concert hall, and released his third solo album - The Songs of Elvis. Five years later - “Back to the Sixties” - a concert filled with songs from love ballads to rock’n’roll classics. In 2018, celebrating his golden birthday, Pētersons put on a show “Sweet Fifty”, together with guest artists such as Marija Naumova, Jānis “Bux” Bukovskis (from Latvian Blues Band), Nina Jedevin, Per-Erik Jonsson and many more. His album Sweet Fifty was released the same year.
