Since the age of 12, the Swiss producer Calixte Mayoraz, also known as Big Skapinsky has been making electronic music. It was when attending college that he first started performing as a DJ for various school events. This caught some notoriety within the college crowd of Lausanne, Switzerland and coincided with the release of his first EP, Evolusic. A few years later, he was signed to Hestia Records and released Golden Ratio. As the track did not gain much attention, Mayoraz decided to continue releasing his music on his own and for free. After publishing his work on Patreon, he released his first crowdfunded EP Around the Block. Many singles followed, mostly released on SoundCloud or BandCamp, such as Vanquishing the Demons and his cover of Thirteen Senses track, Into The Fire. In March 2017, Skapinsky released his first Album, titled Overdue due to the fact that he had been working on and off on it for three years. His inspirations have evolved over the years. Initially being brought up with the sound of The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers, he later found great inspiration from the works of deadmau5, Feed Me, or Madeon. In the last few years, his style has widened to include tracks inspired by the likes of Infected Mushroom, Electric Universe, Sub Focus, Camo & Krooked, and Pendulum.
