Tommy Simpson is a musician/producer/composer from Los Angeles, California. Classically trained in various instruments from the age of 5, his passion for music escalated once he started writing songs on guitar at 13 and began producing his tracks by 15. Since then, Simpson has been releasing electronic music as 'Macro/micro', performing as a resident DJ and live electronic musician in clubs and at several international music festivals, contemporary theater productions and art installations. After some early work as a composer and film-songwriter (RUN THE TIDE, UNFRIENDED, HARDCORE HENRY), Tommy worked for his musical heroes Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross from January 2019 - July 2021, assisting daily as an audio engineer for several scores (WATCHMEN, WAVES, SOUL, MANK), Nine Inch Nails records ("Ghosts V & IV") and other projects (Halsey's "If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power", NIN+HEALTH's "Isn't Everyone", and many more). After departing to continue his solo career, he's finished several scores to short films (OFF HOLLYWOOD, RAER BETA 0027) and upcoming features (KUNG FU GAMES, WAR OF THE WORLDS, UNTITLED EMMETT BERG DOCUMENTARY, UNTITLED KATYA SUVOROVA DOCUMENTARY).
