Biography

March 3, 1994, The Westside Dog was born at Centinela Hospital in Inglewood, California. He lived in the City of Champions until he was four years old then was taken away from his mother and began to live with a foster family until the age of eight. At the age of eight he was reunited with his mother. His family relocated from Inglewood to Long Beach at the age of 12. KB’s music intellect triggered when he began to spend time with his mother’s godfather James Gadson (Justin Timberlake’s former Tour Drummer), who at the time had a studio that Yung Berg (now Hitmaka) recorded out of. He recorded his first song at 13 and registered himself as BMI songwriter in hopes of being a teen phenom. At the age of 15, with influences like Andre3000, Kanye West, 50 cent, and Lil Wayne, he debuted his first mixtape Outside The Indo in 2009. KB attended Renaissance High School for the Arts from 9th-11th grade where he studied music and began to start recording himself in his grandmother’s laundry room on a laptop and a microphone he stole. During his time at RHSA, he became real good friends with current I AM OTHER artist Buddy, who also attended RHSA. Shortly after graduating from Poly HIgh School, KB met EMD and Dezzie Gee( Prod. of Playin’ by KB DeVaughn). After making music with EMD and Dezzie, KB was introduced to Boogie (New Signee to Shady Records) who featured him on his 2016 debuted album Thirst 48 Pt. II , on the song Fall Before The Climb.
