Inquiri is the ambient-bass music project of Los Angeles-based DJ, producer and vocalist Lacey Harris (aka Lacey IQ). The Inquiri catalogue holds 2010's ambient trip hop excursion Walk For Miles, followed by bizarre, beautiful collaboration with Japanese classical pianist and singer Mayumi Kaneyuki, aptly named Semi-Human--a harmony-soaked study in heart opening via eclectic, electronic dream pop, quietly released in 2014. 2022 saw a warm reception of the first fully-ambient album release for Inquiri, titled Seven and given life by beloved imprint Stereoscenic Records, as well as a single which landed on double-LP compilation Healing Together (curated by longtime friend/collaborator marine eyes) on Past Inside The Present. An Inquiri remix was included on a reissue of marine eyes’ debut album idyll, and December 2023 revealed the epic collaboration between Inquiri and world-builder and prolific legend of many shades of electronic music, bvdub. Titled Destroyesterday., the album was manufactured on CD entirely in Japan and released there via ambient/experimental Tokyo label AY with PITP handling distribution outside of Japan. Destroyesterday holds four 20-ish minute, multi-movement journeys of signature bvdub detail, dark/light contrast, depth and intensity with layers of haunted yet hopeful vocals by Harris. The latest Inquiri album See You Someday, a vocal-soaked, emotive wall-of-sound depiction of ten years of suffering, growth, and hope, arrived in July 2024 on PITP.
