Nat Bartsch is a pianist, composer and producer from Melbourne, Australia. She is known for creating soothing, beautiful music that blends neoclassical composition with jazz harmony, improvisation and ethereal ambient effects. Her sound at the piano is distinctively gentle and warm, enriched by lyrical, ethereal melodies. Nat is most well known for her lullabies, first heard on her beloved album 'Forever, and No Time At All'. Influenced by music therapy and life with her newborn son, this album is played in many homes across the world, to people from all walks of life. In 2024 she releases her long-awaited follow up, Forever Changed, which reflects upon the discovery of her autistic and ADHD identity as an adult, and explores the neurodivergent sensory experience of music. In 2020 she responded to the Australian bushfires and the COVID-19 crisis by composing her critically acclaimed album for piano and strings, Hope (produced with fellow Melbourne pianist Luke Howard). She has also recorded jazz re-interpretations of two albums, Forever More and Hope Renewed with her quartet. These albums demonstrate her inimitable genre-fluidity, and the power of her compositions and storytelling as an artist. Brought to life with different ensembles and approaches, her pieces still convey deep emotion. Nat has been nominated for ARIA awards in classical and jazz categories, as well as the recipient of several other awards and commissions. She is founder of Amica Records.
