Biography

Gerald Cannady was born in Bennettsville, SC on June 24 1991. One day, while being watched over by his brothers and their friends, he was given the name G-Rock, that is when Nathan( one of his older brothers/founder of BlackGlove) got the idea of them eventually doing music together so he became influencing him into rapping. He started off writing to instrumentals and using violence until one day the oldest brother, Rodney, went on deployment and left him his CD book. There he became to be influenced by artist like Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Earth Wind and Fire, De la soul, and The Roots. At that moment he realized it’s much more to rap than just violence and rhymes. At that very moment he created the mixtape Knock Em’ Dead and became G-Rocc Da Mic King. Constantly working on his craft, using his creativity and wittiness as a way to vent and create new metaphors and sounds, it easy to say he became one of the dopest emcees out of Marlboro county. Eventually he created his official reentry project ReVIBES and began to get noticed by peers and eventually was presented to manager Marvis “DJ VI” Singleton. Rebranding BlackGlove into the team VIJBGMG.
