TEN SHARP is a Dutch band with Marcel Kapteijn (vocals) and Niels Hermes (keyboards). After some live radio-appearance, Kapteijn and Hermes, playing with bass player Ton Groen, drummer Wil Bouwes and guitarist Martin Boers were able to sign a contract and their first single WHEN THE SNOW FALLS (1985) was 'tipped for the top', while the successor, JAPANESE LOVESONG, hit number 30 on the charts. The next two singles flopped and disappointed, the group fell apart. On a roll, Niels Hermes (composer) and Ton Groen (lyricist) continued to write songs and in 1991 the ‘new’ Ten Sharp released their first track as a duo: This song YOU ultimately charged through all major European charts (and beyond) with more than 20 million copies sold. In many countries their album UNDER THE WATER-LINE reached gold and platinum. After their second album THE FIRE INSIDE, Ten Sharp went on tour with additional musicians: Bennie Top (drums), Ton Groen (bass), Nick Bult (keyboard), Hubert Heeringa (saxophone, violin) and Yelle Sieswerda (guitar). With this same band they recorded their third album SHOP OF MEMORIES and the live successor ROOTS-LIVE. Their last album STAY was released in 2003, and as a result of a dutch TV-show they released the single MAYBE in 2017. November 2022, they celebrated the availability of their music on streaming platforms with the release of a vinyl lp TEN SHARP - THEIR ULTIMATE COLLECTION. November 2023: Release of their first Dutch single ‘Elke Dag’ / ‘Every Day’
